*Age: 33

*Current Occupation: Teacher of Science

*College: Rutgers University Class of 1986, BA in Physics

*Jobs related to The Israel Hour: worked for the Israel Broadcasting Service, Summers 1991 and 1992.

*When, how, and why joined The Israel Hour: In April 1983, Seth Stollman was hosting the show, and one Sunday, he made the "mistake" of broadcasting an invitation to listeners to stop by the station for a visit. Seth was a friend of mine from Rutgers, and I had wanted to be a DJ for awhile following a 4th Grade class trip to WMTR-AM in Morristown. I took Seth up on his invitation, and the rest is history...

*Favorite Israeli song/artist/type of music: Hmm... hard to say, since I like most of the Israeli music we play. Which I would call my "favorite" really depends on my mood at the time. I guess my true favorites are the songs which speak about "Eretz Israel Yafa," the beautiful Land of Israel. But then, I also like the rock, and the folk, and the...

*Favorite segment of The Israel Hour: I like everything we do, but especially the news. For one thing, gathering and editing the news helps me to keep up on events in Israel. However, the main thing I like about our news is that it presents news that Americans would otherwise never hear about, and we present it from an Israeli perspective. We place emphasis in our news cast on stories which most American media either totally ignore or to which they give too little air time. I feel that the news is our most valuable public service. It provides a much-needed balance to the distorted view of Israel most American media present.

*Favorite thing about doing The Israel Hour: When we have a good group of hosts (like we do now), things really click; we all sound comfortable with each other on the air, we joke back and forth, and we all understand each other's little quirks. I also like the way the show helps me feel connected with Israel, through the music, through the news, through the events announcements. Being a hands-on type of person, I also really like handling the equipment, and figuring out new ways of doing things.

*Favorite/Personal Quote: "Im ein anu lanu, mi lanu?" "If we are not for ourselves [first and foremost], who will be for us?"

*Other hobbies: Astronomy, shortwave listening, politics (foreign and domestic), a little bit of this, a little bit of that...
